This is the tool Isla Fisher chose, but not to deal with scandal. Actually, Fisher was responding to the many people who constantly confuse her with Amy Adams. When appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Fisher was asked about the comparisons and spoke about times she has been mistaken for the actress. Fisher even said she was mistaken for Adams while breastfeeding her child in public. Fisher concluded her segment on the show with a comedic PSA, informing the audience the two actresses are quite different.
“Hello, I’m Isla Fisher and I’d like to clear something up. I am not Amy Adams,” she began. “Amy Adams and I are completely different people. Let me explain. Amy Adams has auburn red, my hair is light auburn red. Amy Adams played Susan in Nocturnal Animals. I played Laura in Nocturnal Animals. Amy Adams has five Oscar nominations. I am a member of SAG. Fisher even joked that she too sometimes gets Adams confused with other people.

Fisher’s situation almost got worse when Gaga began asking about her performance in the film. However, Fisher was saved when none other than Adams herself showed up to the party.

While Fisher has experienced plenty of uncomfortable situations as a result of this confusion, she has maintained a sense of humor about it all. While appearing on the Australian talk show The Project in 2021, Fisher joked about how the pandemic put a pause on those uncomfortable encounters with fans of Adams.
When asked about the comparisons, Fisher said, “I haven’t had it for a while, but I think I’ve been inside my house in COVID for a year.” She added, “Now, to be honest, I look forward to being recognized as anyone. I look forward to being out and about.” Fisher even said that she and Adams have laughed about the comparisons.
“We laugh about it because Amy has blue eyes and I’ve got brown, our husbands have laughed about it, too.” Adams had a similar response when asked about the comparisons in a 2013 Vanity Fair interview.
