It can’t be easy, living with a homicidal piece of plastic for thirty years. Filmmaker Kyra Elise Gardner was curious just what living with Chucky must be like, so she set out for Don Mancini’s house to create a documentary using that title. We’ll get to see it very soon. Mancini created Chucky The Killer Doll for the first Child’s Play movie in 1988 and the munchkin quickly rose to fame, taking his place among the great slasher stars of the 1980s and, unlike Freddy or Jason, sustaining a stable career to this day. No one has the longevity or length of stories Chucky has and you’re about to hear them all.
In Living With Chucky, you’ll find out all the behind-the-scenes secrets and wild stories from the cast and crew who’ve been there: creator Mancini, longtime voice of Chucky Brad Dourif, newcomer and nepo baby Fiona Dourif, Chucky’s galpal Jennifer Tilly, and assorted fans: Abigail Breslin, Adam Hurtig, Alex Vincent, Billy Boyd, Christine Elise McCarthy, Dan Povenmire, David Kirschner, Elle Lorraine, James A. Janisse, John Waters, Lin Shaye, Marlon Wayans, Tony Gardner (Kyra’s dad), Tony Timpone and more. The spirit of Charles Lee Ray himself might also pop up to throw in a few (curse) words. Living With Chucky will debut on the obscure streaming service Screambox, but if you can’t find it, a VOD version will also be sold on Amazon, Apple, Google Play and many other places staring April 4.
