Former Neighbours star Delta Goodrem has weighed in on whether fans can expect to see Nina Tucker back in Ramsay Street when the hit soap returns to screens later this year.
The actress and singer, who rose to fame as Nina on the long-running serial drama, explained that, like the rest of the world, she was taken aback to learn that Neighbours was making a comeback so soon after its untimely end.
The popular soap was controversially axed by Channel 5 last year in favour of ‘original UK drama’, which the broadcaster claimed there was a strong appeal for at the time.
Amazon Freevee, however, saw the potential in the show, with the steaming service resuscitating the beloved soap just months after it came to an end with a star-studded ‘finale’.
Delta reprised her role as Nina for the ‘final’ episode, with Nina among those that issued Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) and Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden) with a special message on the day of their wedding.
But with Neighbours set to stage a comeback later this year, can fans expect to see Nina back in Ramsay Street?
Delta revealed that she thought the news of its return was ‘fantastic’, branding Australian TV, particularly Neighbours, an ‘icon’.
