Tyson Fury released his own single last month and the heavyweight champion could now have a movie role on the cards. Fury has been offered to appear in the next Expendables movie by Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone, who has helped screen write the entire franchise whilst also appearing in each sequel its inaugural release in 2010. Filming for the fourth sequel of the franchise has already been completed this year as The Expendables 4 will be released in September 2023.
Stallone will appear alongside Fury on this weekend’s Jonathan Ross Show, with the 76-year-old actor explaining why he thinks that Fury would be a good fit for the franchise. “I think he’d be fantastic, he’s a natural force of nature and he has charisma so why wouldn’t we want him? As long as he’s on the other side beating up the other guys,” Stallone said.Would Tyson Fury be a good fit in The Expendables? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below
Fury responded to Stallone’s praise by stating: “100 per cent in the future, it’s something I’d love to explore. Who better to help me than the man himself Mr Rocky Balboa? The guy I grew up watching on TV. A great opportunity and a great offer and something I’d love to have a go at later when I finish with the boxing career.”
It seemed Fury was done with boxing after his knockout win against Dillian Whyte in April, but he backtracked on the decision to retire by trying to negotiate a fight with longtime rival Anthony Joshua. Talks of the fight broke down and Fury will now face Derek Chisora in a trilogy fight on December 3, a fight that was met with with heavy criticism from fans.Stallone, who is mostly known for his role in the legendary Rocky series, continued his praise of Fury by adding: “I think you’re the greatest heavyweight that ever lived and I’m a boxing historian, I studied this closely. When you put together all your skills, plus your heart and your ability to recuperate and how you can move around so well at your size, there’s no one that could have beat you in any era. It’s totally true.”
Fury then responded by stating: “That’s one for the memory book, I really appreciate it.” If Fury is to take up Stallone’s offer, he wouldn’t be the first fighter to appear in The Expendables as UFC legend Randy Couture will have a lead role in the fourth series of the franchise. World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall, who retired from boxing after just one fight, was also cast in an undisclosed role.
