Caity Lotz, who played Sara Lance, a.k.a. the White Canary on Legends of Tomorrow, reacts to the latest fan campaign to get Warner Bros. to revive The CW show. While the Arrowverse has been one of The CW’s flagship franchises, 2022 changed the status quo for the interconnected universe. In past years, The CW has become famous for being the broadcast network to renew several shows very early, usually around late January/February. However, when news broke in January 2022 that WarnerMedia and Paramount were looking to sell The CW, it was the beginning of a significant domino effect.
For the first year in the show’s run, the Legends of Tomorrow season 7 finale aired without The CW having decided if there would be a season 8. This was the case for Batwoman season 3, as they aired their finale the same week as Legends of Tomorrow in March. While The CW began to renew several shows that month, Legends of Tomorrow was not one of them and was ultimately canceled in late April, alongside Batwoman. Only a few weeks later, DC TV newcomer Naomi was canceled after 1 season, alongside eight other CW shows.
Following Legends of Tomorrow’s cancellation, it caused fans to start campaigns to get Warner Bros. to revive the DC TV drama. Not only have they gotten billboards up in New York, but the #SaveLegendsOfTomorrow movement also got a banner to fly over the Warner Bros. Discovery buildings, which says “@WBD Be A Hero & Save Legends Of Tomorrow” (via @CampaignLegends.) As it has gained a lot of attention on social media, Lotz shared some love for the campaign, encouraging The CW and Warner Bros. TV to “give these amazing fans something!” Check out Lotz’s reaction and the video of the campaign banner below.
