Yohan Geronimo and his wife Daniele Gates extended their franchise run on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 4, and he is getting compared to Pedro Jimeno. The couple previously appeared on Love in Paradise, and have been married for a year. However, Yohan is being compared to fellow 90 Day Fiancé Dominican Republic man Pedro Jimeno for unflattering reasons.
Yohan joined the extended 90 Day Fiancé franchise on Love in Paradise: The Caribbean, A 90 Day Story and married his partner Daniele Gates, a New Yorker and educator. The couple is currently struggling on The Other Way, as Daniele promised Yohan they could move to the US, but now revealed she actually plans to permanently relocate to the Dominican Republic, much to Yohan’s shock and horror. Like Love in Paradise’s Yohan, Pedro also comes from the Dominican Republic. The Family Chantel star was married to Chantel Jimeno for over five years and faced intense scrutiny from her parents Karen and Thomas Everett, who were initially highly suspicious of his intentions with their eldest daughter.
What Is A ‘Sanky-Panky’ On 90 Day Fiancé?
Both Yohan and Pedro have been accused of being “sanky-panky” men in 90 Day Fiancé content. Karen’s friend warned Chantel that Pedro could be a sanky-panky, which came up during The Family Chantel season 4. Chantel and Pedro’s marriage was crumbling after Pedro totally shifted his personality, adding suspicion to the rumors. Likewise, Daniele’s friends warned her that Yohan could be a sanky-panky during The Other Way season 4 premiere. Sanky-panky is a term for a man, often from the Spanish-speaking Caribbean, who seeks to marry a tourist and use her for access to her country before abandoning her. This often happens after around five years, once the man has established himself in the new country and doesn’t look suspicious to authorities.
Is There Evidence That Pedro & Yohan Are Users?
Pedro was initially accepted by 90 Day Fiancé fans who believed that he truly loved Chantel. However, the most recent season of The Family Chantel showed him behaving like a completely new person. It added fuel to the rumors that he was using the Atlanta beauty for money and a green card. Pedro may have planned to abandon her all along after becoming independent in the US. While Pedro and Chantel are the same age, Daniele is a decade older than Yohan, and is very different from her husband. Viewers are already raising suspicion that Yohan rushed into marriage with Daniele for a chance at a better life in the US, which he said is his goal. While fans support Yohan’s career opportunities, they appear mixed about his intentions with Daniele.
Since the 90 Day Fiancé franchise focuses on international marriages, there is often a lot of discussion about foreign spouses being green card hunters, gold diggers, or opportunists. However, The Family Chantel viewers were truly stunned by how Pedro seemingly turned on Chantel out of the blue. Pedro’s unexpected personality shift has perhaps made viewers more skeptical of men from the Dominican Republic who rush into marriages with American women in the franchise, such as the current plot line between Yohan and Daniele. However, many 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way online commenters are also calling out Daniele for lying to Yohan about planning to move.
