Kristen Stewart will direct three music videos for indie band Boygenius – a trio of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. The collaboration was revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone by the three band members. Kristen Stewart is no stranger to music, having directed a video for a live, reworked version of Chrvches’ “Down Side of Me,” which was released in 2017.
While it’s unclear which three songs from the band’s upcoming debut album The Record Stewart will direct the videos for, Boygenius released three singles from it simultaneously last week — “$20,” “Emily I ‘m Sorry’ and ‘True Blue’. The Record” is set to be released on March 31. It will mark the trio’s first full-length project, following on from 2018’s EP. Reviews at the time were very positive, with the record being called “one that leaves you wanting more” and “stunning no matter how long it takes to achieve it, but it becomes even more interesting when you find out that these songs were created in a few days.”
