Scots star Sam Heughan has wished his Twitter followers a Happy Burns Night by sharing an excerpt of Rabbie Burns’ poem ‘Scotch drink’.
The 41-year-old who owns his own brand of Scotch Whisky ‘Sassenach’ took to social media to share his best wishes.
He wrote: “Happy Burns Night to you ALL! Rabbie Burns loved a poem, Scotland and a wee whisky! Join me in raising a @SassenachSpirit with friends and family!

“O thou, my muse! guid auld Scotch drink! Inspire me, till I lisp an’ wink, To sing thy name! X”
Fans from all over the world were quick to rush to the comments and wish Heughan a happy Burns night.
One wrote: “Happy Burns Night to you too Sam!!!! And Slainte Mhath!!!!”
With another adding: “Happy Burns Night, and the power of great taste Slainte”
A third wrote: “Happy Burns Night Sam Enjoy with friends, family, good food and of course with #sassenachwhisky Let’s celebrate, even in my country, France, life, poetry and our love for Scotland. Slainte.”
Heughan’s Sassenach whisky recently received roaring reviews online. Many fans rushed to review the blended Scotch whisky online, with one even dubbing it “a smooth blend of tantalising flavours which dance on the tongue.”
One review on the Master of Malt website read: “I’m not a whisky drinker, but I found this blend to be incredibly smooth and delicious, particularly for a 40% plus spirit. I fear I may have found my gateway whisky drink!
“My husband is a huge single malt fan and was very dubious, particularly because of the price, but even he has had to admit it’s a really tasty dram! The design of the bottle is an extra perfect touch and I do worry I will need to buy a new bottle sooner than I hoped.
“More expensive because if the celebrity founder, however a genuinely great blend and I would highly recommend.”
