‘The Last Of Us’ Marks HBO’s Second-Largest Debut In More Than A Decade

TOPLINE HBO’s new series The Last Of Us drew 4.7 million viewers during its Sunday night premiere, making the zombie thriller the network’s second-largest debut since 2010, behind only last year’s House Of the Dragon.The 4.7 million viewers figure was captured across platforms on Sunday night in the U.S. based on Nielsen and first-party data, HBO noted.

The Last Of Us has been widely discussed on social media, and the show was the top trending topic on Twitter Sunday night, both in the U.S. and globally.

After House Of the Dragon, The Last Of Us’ debut marked HBO’s largest premiere since Boardwalk Empire’s first episode aired to 4.8 million viewers in 2010, before HBO shows were widely available to stream, the network said.
