‘Twas a busy night for Carrie Underwood at the 2022 CMA Awards. With a show jam packed with stellar performances, moving tributes, and some very interesting fashion choices, the Denim & Rhinestones singer didn’t miss a beat. After all, this isn’t her first rodeo.
The 39-year-old had her country Cinderella moment as she teased those famously toned legs on the red carpet with husband Mike Fisher. As one of the busiest celebrities of the night (besides hosts Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning), the romantic, flowing dress was just the tip of the iceberg. After being teased in the opening monologue about her viral side-eye moment at last year’s show, Carrie gave one of the hottest performances of the night in an outfit that only she could make look that good!
Carrie belted her new song titled “Hate My Heart” while rocking a blinged out corset top, tiny leather shorts (because how else is she going to show off “the best legs in country music?), and a ton of fringe for that extra “wow factor. Fresh off her Las Vegas residency earlier this year, the country powerhouse brought some major pyrotechnics and fireworks for a show that had fans saying, “Carrie Underwood is the definition of entertainer of the year”.
With lungs of steel and a voice that’s only gotten better since her American Idol debut, Carrie strutted her way across the stage as she joined her bandmates at center stage before leaving everyone speechless with an electrifying finale. Fans all agreed that Carrie is a force to be reckoned with and left messages under her performance like Carrie is always the highlight of the CMA awards! She’s so beautiful inside and out. She’s the only reason why I watch the award shows” HER VOICE omg she will forever be the voice of country music ️️ ”
She killed it!!! Love her and her music With three performances throughout the night, including tributes to Loretta Lynn and Alan Jackson, fans were quick to call out the CMA Awards for not awarding Carrie with Entertainer of the Year. “Carrie Underwood has sold out concerts all over the country, a Las Vegas residency, new music, and yet she was totally ignored AGAIN!,” wrote one fan on Carrie’s pre-award show post. Honestly, we’re just as surprised that she hasn’t been awarded that honor, but with as much success as Carrie’s, it’s probably the least of her worries.
