Black Sherif drops ‘Soja’ ahead of debut album

Mohammed Frimpong, the fast-rising Ghanaian singer better known as Black Sherif, has come through with his latest single titled ‘Soja’.The singer announced the release of the track via his social media handles on Thursday.The project is one of the songs on ‘The Villian I Never Was’, his forthcoming debut album, scheduled to be released on October 6.In the less than four-minute song, Black Sherif likens himself to a typical soldier who is always battle ready.He also talks about his ambition to go far in the music industry while announcing that he is getting closer to his desired goal.

“I am too close I can feel it, something is vibrating inside me I’m celebrating but outside them dey kill me…I don’t feel okay, my heart is beating so fast… Soja, stand and beat your chest dem dey come… no let them catch you off guard,” he sings.Sherif started out as a dancer at Kumasi Academy where he had his secondary education but later switched to music.He started pulling the weight of fame in Ghana after he came through with ‘First Sermon’ and ‘Second Sermon’, his hit singles.Sherif became a viral sensation in Nigeria and other African countries after he released ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ featuring Burna Boy.
