Shadow and Bone season 2 is not coming to Netflix in August 2022. The original fantasy series, based on two of Leigh Bardugo’s popular Grishaverse book series — Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows — was an instant hit when the first season arrived on Netflix. Does Shadow and Bone season 2 have a release date?
Needless to say, we have all been waiting eagerly for news about a Shadow and Bone season 2 release date, but unfortunately, Netflix has not revealed when the new season will be dropping. Regardless of this, we still may be able to offer you a rough prediction as to when you could expect the new episodes on your screen.
As mentioned, filming wrapped for season 2 on June 6, 2022, which was confirmed by the cast of the Netflix series in an announcement via Twitter. While this is great news for production, don’t get too excited, as post-production for a show will take a lot longer due to the amount of visual effects needed to be added in post. We could still be surprised with a late winter 2022 release for the show, but that seems unlikely. We are more likely to see the return of Shadow and Bone on Netflix sometime in 2023. Season 1 was released on April 23, 2021, so we could potentially see the new season early in the second quarter of the year, or late in the first quarter. Of course, this is just our prediction and we could be totally off. So make sure to keep checking back for more updates on Shadow and Bone season 2.
