Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel actress Charisma Carpenter is soon set to appear in The CW’s Dynasty. However, instead of fighting-off demons alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan as her iconic character Cordelia Chase, Carpenter will be taking on a very different role.
The actress is guest starring in Dynasty as someone from Fallon Carrington’s (Elizabeth Gillies) past, according to TV Line.Carpenter’s mysterious character, who’s called Heather, is a former babysitter of Fallon’s who makes a surprise return. Upon her arrival, Heather is expected to drop a huge bombshell on the Carringtons. Will she stir up some trouble among the family and their vast empire? Fans of the rebooted soap opera can expect to see Carpenter appear in episode 17 of season 5.Unfortunately, season five will be Dynasty’s last as The CW has confirmed it won’t be renewing the soap for a sixth outing. The reboot of the hit 1980s series first aired in 2017 and will draw to a close later this year.
It’s one of many The CW shows to be axed in recent weeks as Riverdale, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Legacies and New Mexico have also been cancelled. Carpenter is best known for her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer which she starred in between 1997 and 1999, and its spin-off series Angel where she appeared from 1999 to 2004.However, these aren’t the only TV shows viewers may recognise the actress from. She also starred as Kyra in the fantasy drama Charmed, played Kendall Casablancas in Veronica Mars, and Rebecca Sewell in The Lying Game. Carpenter has also previously had guest appearances in a number of big shows, such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Supernatural, Lucifer, and 9-1-1. Similarly, she’s made her mark on the silver screen playing Lacy in The Expendables film franchise.
