Kelly Clarkson had country music icon Faith Hill on her eponymous talk show in June, and it turns out these two women have a little bit of history. And by that, we mean we know they posed for a photo with two other music legends back in the day.
Clarkson brought this up to Hill during their chat. “Do you remember this night?” the Kellyoke singer said before revealing a photo of herself, Hill, Shania Twain, and Reba McEntire all hanging out backstage at Twain’s concert. This is the definition of squad goals. See the photo for yourself at the 20-second mark in the above video. “I went to go see Shania. You [Hill] did, too,” Clarkson said, recalling the story behind the picture. “I was with Reba. I was pretending [to be cool in the photo]. I was Meryl Streep right there. I was so chill about it, but legit I was so excited. My friends afterwards, we were just like, ‘Do you remember how I pretended that that was normal?’ I was very excited about that night.”
Leave it to Kelly Clarkson to react exactly how we would when put in the same situation. It’s moments like this that make The Kelly Clarkson Show so delightful—and why it earned a whopping nine Daytime Emmy nominations this year. (At the 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in 2021, The Kelly Clarkson Show won Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.)
