The Equalizer is officially renewed for two more seasons on CBS

If you were soaking up a wide range of great shows back in the 1980s then it’s likely you’ll have fond memories of tuning into The Equalizer. If not, on the other hand, perhaps you were introduced to the property courtesy of the Denzel Washington and Antoine Fuqua movies in 2014 and 2018, respectively. Since then, CBS has offered a take that some fans have championed as the best yet. Developed by Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller, the reboot series starring Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall – the titular Equalizer – hit screens in 2021 and has successfully expanded upon the premise’s limitless potential.

Hopes are high for the show to remain on TV, but is The Equalizer season 3 confirmed?

Is The Equalizer renewed for season 3?
Yes, The Equalizer was renewed for not just a third season but a fourth too in May 2022. Although a release date for season 3 is yet to be confirmed, Deadline reports that it’s beginning with the 2022-2023 broadcast season while drawing attention to the second season’s impressive ratings. For example, CBS has outlined that the show is Sunday’s best performing scripted series, averaging 9.46 million viewers and, to date, it has achieved 1.2 billion potential social media impressions. Of course, that’s no small feat, which explains why the network had the confidence to renew for two seasons rather than just the one.
