Sir David Attenborough praises Cotswold entrepreneur for her new children’s book

An entrepreneur from the Cots wolds who has just published a children book raising awareness of environmental issues has received praise from none other than national treasure Sir David Atten borough.Sir David Atten borough has praised a Gloucestershire entrepreneur on the publication of her new children book about the environment.Away written by Dani Seatter a former early years teacher and founder of Gloucestershire based green business Eco Able has a green theme at its heart and has been sustainably produced by local businesses.After sending a copy to Attenborough the television super star who has become a leading voice in raising awareness of the impact of man on planet earth has wished her every success.

I sent him the book thinking if anyone is interested in and represents looking after the environment it is him and I did not really expect to get anything back. He is so busy after all said Seatter.But he did write backa handwritten note within a couple of days as well thanking me for sending the book and wishing me every success with it. I was so surprised and thrilled.The illustrated book tells the story of a group of animals who discover something in their woodland home and is centred around the idea that there is no magical place for our waste to disappear to.

Seatter worked with local businesses Culpepper & Co in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Printers to ensure the book itself was as sustainable as possible being printed with ecofriendly inks on 100 per cent recycled paper and bound with vegan glue. It has also been certified as carbon balanced by the World Land Trust.The illustrations were done by Cotswoldsbased artist Anna Stead of Thistle Moon.Away began as a prepandemic project for Seatter alongside her business idea for an ecofriendly shop. She went on to launch Eco Ableones top shop for environmentally friendly items spanning pet products toiletries and children clothes to cleaning products and corporate gifts – at the start of the pandemic in 2020.

The business began online before opening as a physical shop in Cirencester in May 2022 both of which are exceeding expectations.Eco Able turnover was up 110 per cent on the first year and expected to grow 120 plus per cent in 2022 and similarly in 2023 with Seatter hoping to take on two members of staff.Away is available in hardback and paperback from the Eco Able store in Cirencester and online.Sir David Atten borough has been given a second knighthood by Prince Charles for services to television broadcasting and conservation.

He has now been appointed a higher accolade a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael And St George because of his documentaries about the natural world and his campaigning to save it.The Prince of Wales who is himself known to be a committed environmentalist bestowed the honour on national treasure Atten borough at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.Sir David was first knighted by the Queen in 1985 in that years Birthday Honour Her Majesty awarded Atten borough with the Knights Bachelor honour The 1985 Queens Birthday honour lists were announced on 15 June 1985.

Sir David has also been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize joining Pope Francis and the World Health Organisation on the list of this years candidatesThe 2022 Nobel Peace Prize is an award that will be announced in October 2022 by the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo.According to the Nobel Committee there are 343 candidates for the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize of which 251 are individuals and 92 are organisations.David Atten borough whose full name is David Frederick Atten borough is a broadcaster biologist natural historian and author.

He is best known for writing and presenting in conjunction with the BBC Natural History Unit the nine natural history documentary series forming the Life collection a comprehensive survey of animal and plant life on Earth.He has become a national treasure although he is said to dislike the term himself.Hes been awarded numerous awards over the last 50 years including his knighthood a C-B-E in 1974 and an Order of Merit in 2005.He is also the only person to have won B-A-F-T-A awards for program in black and white colour high definition 3-D and 4-K.

His television credits span eight decades. He narrated every episode of the long running BBC series Wildlife on One and in his later career has voiced several high profile BBC wildlife documentaries among them The Blue Planet and Planet Earth. Atten boroughs work as a broadcaster has also mirrored his work as an author. He wrote an accompanying volume to each of his nine Life documentaries along with books on tribal art and birds of paradise.He has also contributed forewords and introductions to many other works including those accompanying Planet Earth Frozen Planet Africa and other BBC series he has narrated.
