The Skywalker Saga began telling its story in the middle. Then the franchise went backward. Then the Star Wars timeline went forwards but not all the way back to the start.
Eventually it moved on to the future but then it revisited the futurepast which was also the pasts future. Yeah we know. The Star Wars timeline is confusing. And it just keeps becoming more convoluted. Many new animated and live action series have made keeping track of the Star Wars timeline harder than ever. But you do not need to know the exact year each Star Wars show and film take place to follow along; you just have to know where they fit in relative to one another. And where here to help you do that by telling you when Disney+s Obi Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka both happen in the Star Wars story. The Star Wars prequels introduced young Anakin to the franchise and they also mark the start of the Skywalker familys story. This is when Sheev Palpatine put his plan in motion Obi Wan Kenobi took on a dangerous Padawan and Anakin and Padmé secretly married.
The Clone Wars animated movie and its long running spinoff series present their own continuity nightmare. The shows episodes which mainly take place between movies Episode II and Episode III not released in chronological order. Technically some episodes predate the events of Attack of the Clones. You should definitely watch The Clone Wars episodes chronologically and not release order. But in terms of the animated series place in Star Wars its enough to know the show explores the three years of galactic warfare that took place between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
