Over five and a half seasons the Breaking Bad prequel series has chronicled Jimmy MC Gills Bob Oden kirk slow descent from an earnest public defender to the unscrupulous criminal lawyer Saul Goodman introduced during the events of Breaking Bad. One of the most influential figures in Jimmys transformation has been his loyal confidante fellow attorney and Kim Wexler.

After numerous delays due to the COVID 19 pandemic and Odenkirks onset heart attack Better Call Saul returned to AMC for its sixth and final season on April 18. The first half of season 6 followed two separate storylines which converged during the midseason finales shocking cliffhanger. Gus Fring Giancarlo Esposito cleans up after his failed assassination attempt against Lalo Salamanca Tony Dalton while awaiting his return to Albuquerque to seek revenge. Meanwhile Jimmy and Kim execute their master plan to sabotage fellow attorney Howard Hamlin Patrick Fabian which spells deadly unintended consequences.

Now a new Better Call Saul teaser trailer hints at whats to come for Kim in the second half of season 6. Attached to a tweet captioned Take the oath the video focuses on a bloodspattered candle as Kim recites the Attorneys Oath via voiceover. As soon as she finishes reading the oath the flame flickers slightly as if its being blown out. Watch the video in the space below

On the surface Kim reciting the Attorneys Oath serves to highlight how many of these legal vows she has broken during her and Jimmys Howard scam alone. Digging a bit deeper the Better Call Saul teaser could also be hinting at Kims death. The video visually references a memorable moment from the midseason 6 finale Plan and Execution when a candle in Jimmy and Kims apartment flickers when Howard enters and then again more ominously when Lalo appears. Of course there is a chance this clip isnt foreshadowing Kims death at all as it could represent the end of Kims legal career instead. Either way it doesnt seem to be a favorable woman for Jimmys partner in crime.

From Kims first appearance in Better Call Saul viewers have been concerned about the characters fate considering the brutal nature of the Breaking Bad universe and the fact she never appears in the preceding series. With Nacho and Howards fates in hindsight it seems almost every major Better Call Saul character who hasnt appeared in Breaking Bad is destined for a gruesome death. Kims fate will be revealed in time as Better Call Saul season 6 returns on July 11.
