The View’s Whoopi Goldberg’s Heartbreaking Childhood Revealed Through Heartfelt Tribute EXCLUSIVE

Whoopi Goldberg may be one of the most recognizable personalities in Hollywood but it took a lot of hard work to get to this point and that involved a fair amount of struggle. The host of The View was one of the executive producers of the documentary Butterfly in the Sky which chronicles the journey of the children’s reading TV show Reading Rainbow.

Hello! They spoke to the documentary’s directors Bradford Thomason and Brett Whitcombe at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere where they revealed the actress’ special relationship with the project. When Bradford was asked about her engagement with Butterfly in the Sky she said It was amazing! Her experience with this was that she had a hard time reading when she was young. For this reason it was important for her to spread the word and help children learn and love to read. So it was my pleasure.

Brett also added Also LeVar [Burton] had her first Star Trek gig they have a rich history together. When we were getting her on the plane she said yes right away. Whoopi was one of the executive producers of Butterfly in the Sky The Academy Awardwinning actress appeared in a 1993 episode of PBS which is about the book Amazing Grace. Whoopi was also one of the people interviewed for the documentary saying Now you can ask ‘Why do you do something like read a rainbow?’ You don’t make any money what is a draw?
