Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 should have many demos

With Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 revealed so early Infinity Ward should build on the extra time by running several beta tests.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has done away with the new detection style created by Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty Vanguard. Not only was there a minor trailer release rather than a special inWarzone event but the game was revealed nearly five months before release. Thats a far cry from Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard which were unveiled to the public just a few months before they actually launched.

While there were benefits to the previous strategy allowing fans to jump into a beta a few days after the official reveal and helping keep the hype going until launch Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2s approach also has its positives. Not only can Infinity Ward take a slowburn approach to its reveal dropping new screenshots every month that highlight different aspects of the game but if it wanted to it could make several betas. This would be ideal as it could allow all modes and maps to be fully polished prior to release.

What Multitasking Call Modern Warfare 2 Betas can achieve
While only one beta for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has been confirmed it would be good to see more released after that. Obviously the focus in the main beta should be on 6v6 multiplayer but even traditional online play can benefit from several betas. For example the first beta could focus entirely on modes like Domination and Hardpoint while the next beta could focus on Demolition Search and Destroy. This way fans can try out every core game mode providing feedback on everything from the rules to the amount of points earned for objective play.

This will allow testing on more Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 maps as well. Normally Call of Duty beta versions only allow players to test four or so maps which is a small part of the games total number of maps. With so many betas Infinity Ward can get feedback on each original map prior to release saving any renewals as day one surprises. This way changes like the Miami rerun of Black Ops Cold War can happen before launch if needed resulting in stronger map pools on day one.

Beyond the maps and basic 6v6 multiplayer balance Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is expected to have some unique modes. Rumored modes include a Tarkovlike experience and a Rainbow Six Siegeinspired experience. Much like the introduction of Gunfight in Modern Warfare 2019 testing out an entirely new game mode and type of gameplay via a beta version makes sense. As such keeping separate trial packages for these new modes would be ideal.

A state can also be set up for each beta to feature a different selection of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2s weapon lineup. Players can see assault rifles in one demo and two more in the next testing out the entire arsenal in the runup to the release. With Infinity Ward being able to get feedback on every single weapon through this method the developer can ensure that each weapon is balanced when fired making Call of Duty launches rare as not one or two weapons are completely beat up.

Even the highly anticipated Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 beta is viable as there are several months Activision could fill with exciting testing periods for the latest entry in its beloved series. While there was only time to do a brief Alpha and Beta release with the previous two versions of Call of Duty that wasnt the case with Modern Warfare 2. Infinity Ward has a long time to kill until launch day so you can get community feedback on as many Aspects of the game as much as possible would be wise. Multiple beta versions are the best way to do this or at least one comprehensive beta thats constantly expanding throughout the summer. Hopefully this will be the approach with Modern Warfare 2.
